For four months her department has been sitting on a coroner's recommendations to improve jet-ski safety. Yesterday, after a woman lost her leg in a jet-ski accident. Jet-ski laws farce
ONE jet-ski rider has died and several others have been seriously injured in the four months since a coroner handed down recommendations after a 2008 death on the recreational vessels. Despite the mounting toll. which includes a 43-yi.'ar-old Nerang woman who lost her leg in an incident on Sunday, the State Government says it is still months away from releasing a preliminary report into coroner John Hutton's safety measures.

Riders all aboard for protest over council's ban threat SITTING by the Harley Park boat ramp at Labrador, looking out for the hooning, noisy jet-skis' which prompted the council to try to have them banned, a loud, revving noise cuts through the air. There are four jet-skis close by but the noise from these craft can barely be heard above the wind on the Broadwater.

Jet-skiers face bans on Broadie
NO-GO zones on the Broadwater could funnel all jet-ski riders into just a few areas. The Southport Parklands and Harley Park are two areas being considered for marine zones. Cr Grant Pforr said while the council 'did not want to do it', a marine zone banning personal water craft could be enforced around the Southport Broadwater Parklands.

Jet-ski ban after wave of protest
JET-ski riders have been banned from one popular Gold Coast boat ramps and wider bans may follow. The city council will vote next Monday to shut the boat ramp at Harley Park, opposite the Grand Hotel, to jet-skis, following complaints from nearby residents who say they are too noisy.
